I knew of these places from my years as a freight truck driver in the 1960s. In 1969 I bought a Pentax and began taking pictures. But at the end of 1974 I had to concentrate on paying work for my family. For the next 30 years I took only family pictures. After a show of my 1970s work at the Ocean County Artist Guild in 2005, I bought a Sony DSLR and went back to work.
Shows included a second at the guild, as well as others at a Teaneck, NJ., coffee house, and at an Ocean County library. Juried group exhibits included Viridian Artists, NYC; Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati; Bucks County Gallery of Fine Art; Ben Shahn Gallery, William Paterson University; George Segal Gallery, Montclair State University; Gallery 14, Hopewell NJ; Sumei Multidisciplinary Arts Center, Newark NJ and more. A number of pieces sold. I launched an online project called 4years40walls at http://www.4years40walls.com/. That led to coverage including features in Philadelphia Weekly and Hidden City Philadelphia as well as a Temple University video.
